Sydney's future is looking bright

If you've wanted to move to Sydney for as long as you can remember, but have always managed to find some excuse or another to put off purchasing that plane ticket, the following might make up your mind once and for all!

On Tuesday (August 13), a Draft Economic Development Strategy that will see Sydney heading toward a bigger and brighter future was released.

The announcement was made by Sydney's Lord Mayor Clover Moore, who said the strategy would encourage more people to make the city their home - or at least their next holiday destination.

In the strategy, three areas have been nominated as focal points for improvement. Over the next 10 years, Sydney will strive to become a city with greater opportunities for its residents, as well as a more competitive and productive culture hub.

Sydney wants to be a place that entices both international visitors and business investors. The strategy has outlined a number of ways this can be achieved.

In particular, it claims that investment in and the creation of new infrastructure could "keep the city moving," as well as help many of Sydney's sectors to grow and thrive.

If you're interested in making Sydney - or, indeed, anywhere else in Australia your home - you may want to talk to an Australian migration agent about the immigration visas that could be available to you and your family.

There are a wide range of immigration visa options to choose from, and migration agents in Australia can make sure you pick the right one for your unique situation - as well as help you through every stage of the application process.

In addition to this, Draft Retail and Tourism Action Plans have been released that lay out long-term targets for these two popular sectors.

These plans are all about making life a little easier not only for people travelling to Sydney for a holiday, but also for those who cater to them.

For instance, it has been suggested that an investigation be launched into whether planning controls around hotels and other tourist infrastructure can be changed in order to make this process a lot more efficient.

There has also been a call for more festivals, conferences and musicals to be held in Sydney, so that the number of international visitors - which is already something like two million a year - will continue to grow in the coming years.
