Migration Conference 2013 to hit Brisbane in September

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is all set to host the Migration Conference 2013, a must-attend event for all registered migration agents.

This three-day conference will be held from September 26 to September 28, and will involve presentations from a variety of industry professionals on a range of topics particularly relevant to migration agents in Australia.

You can opt to attend one, two or all three days of this event. Each individual day costs just $120 to attend, and a three-day package will cost $360.

Day one highlights

On the morning of day one, Lucinda Chan, division director at Macquarie Bank, will be giving a talk titled Servicing Wealthy Investment Visa Clients. This is of particular relevance, given that the first significant investor visa has just been approved.

In addition to this, migration agents definitely won't want to miss Jeremy Stokes' presentation on the afternoon of day one about the currently volatile issue of temporary business sponsorship.

Mr Stokes is director of programme delivery at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, so he is certainly an authority on this subject.

Day two highlights

Jacqui Gorman from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship will be covering SkillSelect and shedding some much-needed light on the processes and systems involved in online applications, as well as Expression of Interest forms.

And, just before lunch on day two, the delicate matter of partner migration will also be discussed.

Day three highlights

Day three will see BUPA's Dr Stanley Goldstein, along with a number of other industry professionals, providing migration agents with some insight into organising health cover for visitors and non-Australians.

Registered migration agent Robert Balzola will also be helping conference participants to define and successfully navigate client relationships in his highly anticipated talk on day three.

You are also invited to attend the AFL Grand Final Lunch, which will be held on the conference's last day. For $160, you will get a three-course gourmet meal, three hours worth of beverages and the opportunity to kick back with the best in the industry and watch the AFL Grand Final live on a big screen at Era Bistro.

Migration Conferences are being held all over the country from August to October this year. If you can't make it to Brisbane, we encourage you to check out the other conference locations that are available.
