Bupa health insurance for working visa overseas visitors

Bupa health insurance is an excellent way for immigrants to receive the best possible medical care while living and working in Australia.

For overseas visitors on working visas, Bupa has three levels of cover – classic, gold and platinum.

Classic: This is the most basic level of cover, but still ensures holders receive hospital and medical expenses across any public hospital in the country.

People with Bupa Classic are also covered for visits to private practices, where they can see specialists.

Gold: Gold cover includes all of the features of Classic, but also provides an excess option for those looking to reduce their premiums.

Platinum: Bupa's most comprehensive health package, this includes all of the features in Classic and Gold, while also offering top level extras such as dental, physio, chiropractic, massage and optical.

Whether an overseas visitor has Classic, Gold or Platinum cover, they are entitled to pharmacy services as an out-patient, as well as full expenses for ambulance and repatriation.

Importantly, all levels of cover also meet the minimum health insurance requirements set out by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for selected immigration visas – this includes the 457 visa.

Those who choose products in the Classic, Gold and Platinum range will receive a verification cover letter via email for the DIAC within four business days.
