Beijing exhibition to boost business events in Australia

The Chinese Incentive, Business Travel and Meeting (CIBTM) Exhibition is being held this week in Beijing.

The exhibition began on September 2 and will conclude on September 6. Tourism Australia is attending, along with 13 representatives from the business events industry in Australia.

Its purpose is to encourage organisations from all over the world to host their meetings, conferences, incentives and other corporate events in Australia.

Penny Lion, Head of Business Events Australia, said that "incentive trips and corporate meetings have distinct needs that influence the choice of a destination".

As all migration agents around the country know, "Australia is well placed to deliver in both respects".

Ms Lion added that Australia's strength lies in its ability to deliver creative events and provide opportunities for "innovative team building".

Tourism Australia revealed that delegates will be drawing attention to Sydney's Darling Harbour, which is currently being upgraded and will be home to a brand-new convention and exhibition centre by 2016.

This facility promises to be the largest of its kind ever constructed in Australia.

If the CIBTM Exhibition goes according to plan, migration agents in Australia could see a lot more employers and employees applying for migration visas in the near future.
