MIGRATION ALLIANCE HAS DONE IT!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!
Media Release: Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash

Red Tape Reduction for Migration Agents
The Coalition Government's commitment to red tape reduction was highlighted today with the announcement by the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash that re-registration of migration agents would be simplified.
Minister Cash has announced the removal of the English language proficiency requirement for re-registering migration agents.
Under the former Labor Government, the change affecting the re-registration of migration agents was due to come into effect from 1 January 2014.
Minister Cash said simplifying the re-registration process will save the sector time and money.
This decision reflects the Government's commitment to reducing red tape and will allow the migration advice industry to focus on providing high quality assistance to clients.
Minister Cash said she was not satisfied that the former Government's decision to impose an additional burden on re-registering agents by requiring them to demonstrate their English language competency was supported by evidence.
"It is clear from my consultations that industry stakeholders were concerned by the detrimental impact this measure would have had on experienced agents," Minister Cash said.
Minister Cash also stated that she would now consider a broader review of the migration advice industry including English language requirement for migration agents entering the profession.
"Given the role played by the migration advice industry in the delivery of Australia's migration programme, it is important it maintains high standards and continues to develop professionally," Minister Cash said.

Rick,
Do you think the press release is from Liana?
What makes you think that?
Do you think Liana is a coward?
Do you think her "arrogance knows no bounds"?
Is the person you are referring to and their personal life "Angela Chan".
I guess if that is false then Angela would have an action in injurious falsehood.
You pretend to be a lawyer, why not give us all the benefit of your learned opinion?

Rick, if this helps you I have attached the press release to refresh your memory.
Rick,
Do you think the press release is from Liana?
What makes you think that?
Do you think Liana is a coward?
Do you think her "arrogance knows no bounds"?
Is the person you are referring to and their personal life "Angela Chan".

I make no mention of an individual, so please do not misquote me. I find that the arrogance of the MA knows no bounds. Is is a shame you don't answer my other questions which I have posted, but still do not appear on this blog.
By the way, is this blog not a public forum? If so, am I not entitled to comment on a clearly contentious issue, as I see fit. Or are the 'moderators' on here the sole arbiters of blog morality?
Rick,
i am the Vice Convenor of MA and a member of the Liberal Party.
I voted Liberal in the last Federal Elections. My Local member is Craig Laundy. I wrote to him and after the election and he had won the seat of Reid and asked him to approach Scott Morrison to remind him that at a meeting with RMAs in Reid ( organised by MA) he said that in his opinion there was no case to require RMAs to do an IELTS test.
Also at that meeting Scott Morrison said that he didn't think that RMAs should have to do the English test because tax Agents didn't have to.
There are 100 RMAs who are members of MA who live and vote in REID which is one of the most diverse and multicultural Federal electorates. I am glad that Craig Laundy won and that I may have contributed to that victory.
I want politicians to recognise that RMAs are portals to the migrant vote.
I am sick of Politicians and DIBP slagging off and defaming RMAs.
RMAs need to be heard and to have a voice.
What membership organisation are you affiliated with. Is it MIA?.
What political party are you a member of?
Who did you vote for in the last Federal election?
Do you think that RMAs should have been required to undertake an IELTS test?
Did you write to your local Federal member?
Did you lobby Chris Bowen and do anything other than reinforce the 10 year rule about RMAs and IELTS?
Did you meet with Scott Morrison and Michaelia Cash in Canberra other than at the MIA national conference?
Did you tell them that this idea was racist, ill informed, not evidence based and electoral poison?
Who are you?
What did you do?
So, you feel free to lampoon and scandalise others simply because of their affiliations to the opposite side of the political fence - direct or implied - yet claim the high moral ground as a member of the Liberal Party? Surely that is the height of hypocrisy?
Also I trust every office bearer of the MA, have personal lives which are beyond reproach and those lives are not subject to the toxic and salacious publication your organisation put out, under the guise of a media release. which clearly is an attempt to impugn a fellow RMA's character, as well as a puerile attempt to undermine the veracity of that person.
Dear Rick,
My personal life is not beyond reproach.
I have been mentioned in judgements , I am divorced,I have done things I have been ashamed of.
I have been accused of things I have never done. I have behaved poorly, I get cranky, I suffer from migraines, I am bald...how about you?
Have you ever done anything you regret?
Do you regret coming onto this blog under this false identity?
Who are you?
Why don't you just go away?
Don't you have any work to do?
Are you talking about the media release and the reference to the relationship between Angela Chan and Al Grassby. He was a former labor party immigration minister wasn't he?
Isn't that material about the relationship true?
How about answering some questions about your political affiliations etc... You are great with the questions and the threats, the bullying and hectoring but on some things you are a bit shy.
Don't forget we ALL have a history, even you Murray Rivers,Rick OShea etc..
Yes we do, but I don't purport to represent a 'profession' and I don't attack my opposition, unless I feel compelled to defend myself against needless, aggressive and spurious accusations.
As to who I am, I am Rick O'Shea and bloody proud of it. As to which party I vote - voted for, I voted secret ballot as a private citizen, as is my democratic right.
Once again, is this a public blog or not?
Rick are you a migration agent? I can't find your name on the Office of the MARA website.
Who is your opposition (which you refer to)?
Has anyone made threats against you or the company you work for needlessly, aggressively and spuriously?
I think you have attacked me actually, you said something about 'pot and kettle' and you said something about coward and you asked me if my arrogance knew no bounds when responding to me on this thread. I call that an attack.

Good one Rick,
You are a real card!
So you are Rick O Shea and proud of it and you feel entitled to ask me about my political affiliations and I gave it to you chapter and verse.
You claim your "democratic right to a secret ballot as a private citizen".
You refer to "opposition" MA is not opposed to MIA it is different that is all.
I guess I must be your personal "opposition".
So must Liana Allan.
Rick you have just played your last hand in this little "game'. I know who you are and I am going to publish your identity so that others will know who you are and what you stand for.
However before I do that on this blog I am going to send you an email with what I am going to publish, does that suit you?
Perhaps you can get it printed onto a Tshirt, I know I will!
This is a public blog!
Rick
You said 'who is acting cowardly now'.
NOTE: you could have said but did not say 'Which organisation is acting cowardly now?' or 'MA is acting cowardly now'. But you chose to say 'who' and that is personal.
I asked you this question: 'Which scandalous news piece? Which attack on a RMA? And who is a coward?'
You responded: 'Your media release on this topic, dated 5 December 2013, wherein you make specific reference to a person and their "personal" life. Does your arrogance know no bounds?'.
NOTE: You could have said 'The MA media release.....where MA made specific reference....does MA's arrogance know no bounds?'. But you made it personal. You used the words 'Your' and 'you' and 'your arrogance' in response to my questions. That is personal.
Are you a migration agent?
It would appear the sandalous media release has been taken down. The personal attack on another RMA is disgraceful. Reminds me of the old saying which has something to do with 'Pots and Kettles'.
Who is acting cowardly now?
