Summary – Update to ImmiAccount for Paper-Based Parent Visa Applications (24 April 2025)

The Department of Home Affairs has introduced new online services to support paper-based Parent visa applicants.

  • Although applicants must still lodge their Parent visa application on paper, they can now import their application into ImmiAccount once the Department has acknowledged receipt.

  • Importing into ImmiAccount provides access to several online services, including:

    • Uploading supporting documents,

    • Viewing messages from the Department,

    • Updating personal details,

    • Checking the application's status.

  • This new functionality applies to all new and existing Parent visa applications, except for Parent (subclass 103) visa applications lodged before November 2018.

  • A step-by-step guide for importing paper applications into ImmiAccount is available on the Department's website
