Migration Alliance partners with ACTS - a TRA approved RTO for migration skills assessments
Migration Alliance is pleased to have partnered with Australian Construction Training Services.
Australian Construction Training Services (ACTS) is endorsed by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) as a TRA Approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO), for both the Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) and the 457 Skills Assessment Program.
Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) is the Australian Goverment Organisation that is responsible for the Skills Assessment of offshore applicants, for the purposes of Migration. TRA are part of the Department of Industry.
ACTS provides authorised assessment services for Migration in the following areas:
As a Registered Training Organsiation, ACTS and its consortia member Engineering Training Australia (ETA) conduct assessments in accordance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) for applicants seeking to have their skills and knowledge assessed towards an Australian trade qualification.
ACTS services are customer focused and are designed to bring out the best in their clients. Migration Alliance recommends that Registered Migration Agents seek to assist suitable clients with their migration to Australia by referring them to ACTS who can guide the visa applicant (client) through the process of the Technical and Practical assessment methods.
More Qualifications
ACTS are able to provide Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for a large range of qualifications. In fact, ACTS and its Consortia member Engineering Training Australia have been providing skills assessments for the past 5 years to thousands of clients across Australia and the world.

- General Construction Trades
- Engineering Trades
- Business Qualifications
ACTS can provide assessments for all levels of tradespeople such as:
- Trades Assistants to the Trades Managers
- Builders
- Site Supervisors
- Engineering Supervisors
At times, visa applicants / clients may need further qualifications for licencing purposes. ACTS and its consortium members are able to assist visa applicants to Australia with all of of their licencing enquiries in the trade areas.

These occupations have been capable of being assessed by VETASSESS and VicUni for a while now - I think. Do you agree?
If I'm right, what does ACTS bring to the party that these other assessing bodies can't provide?
That aside - a good initiative. Competition is good for pricing and improvement of service delivery.

I guess the best answer I can give you is that Australian Construction Training Services is a private RTO that has built its reputation by providing the highest standard of skills assessment and RPL to the construction and engineering trades in Australia. The fact that after rigorous scrutiny Trades Recognition Australia has entrusted a private RTO the title TRA Authorised Registered Training Organisation is validation of our commitment to the industry.
For many years migration agents have endured the slow turn around or rejection of skills assessments for their clients. So here's our commitment to the Migration Industry, we are deploying two Directors of ACTS to permanently re-locate to Asia and UK to ensure that we have an in-country presence and that all clients are given the best possible chance of a successful and speedy outcome that is fully ASQA compliant. Painting and Decoration can be assessed by ACTS as an on-scope general construction trade but not under the OSAP or 457 visa programs. Please email us with the details enquiries@visaskills.com and we will find the right pathway for your client

Is waterproofing in construction trade is valid for 457 visa offshore skill assessment

Your starting point is the SOL and then if the occupation is listed then you will be able to determine who the skills assessing authority is. -

Unfortunately Waterproofing is not currently a nominated occupation on SOL or CSOL.
It can be assessed by ACTS as an on-scope general construction trade if your client meets the pre-requisites for AQF Certificate III in Waterproofing. Please let me know if I can be of assistance

This is a piece of great news. it has been really difficult to get people qualified in Australia in these trades and the fact of TRA signing off on it will be a real circuit breaker. Good to see that ACTS taking their operation offshore to pre qualify tradies before they come onshore on working holiday visas etc!
