Liana is the owner of Legal Training Australia Pty Ltd which is a professional development firm training Australian migration agents and owner of Visacorp Pty Ltd migration agency. Liana's main passion is serving the needs of the migration agent community and providing migrants with information that can truly assist them as they seek to create a new life in Australia. Liana plays netball twice a week and enjoys great food and the occasional glass of Shiraz. Liana lives in Sydney, Australia and has two children. Liana is married.

The DIBP's Procedures Advice Manual (PAMs) have been changed and the policy is now as follows:

46.5 Training benchmark A - industry training fund

Industry training funds are statutory authorities responsible for providing funding for training of eligible workers in certain industries. For example, some State/Territory governments have construction industry training funds established by Acts of Parliament to support the training of eligible persons in the building and construction industry such as the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund that is administered under the Building and Construction Industry Training Levy Act 1999. These training funds generally source revenue through levies from businesses operating in that industry. Industry training funds operate in a range of sectors including construction and mining but are not limited to these industries. Immigration has no authority to register or establish industry training funds.

Migration Alliance has permission to publish this news from Mr Steve Ingram.

As of Monday this week Mr Ingram is working for Immigration Minister, Peter Dutton MP.  

I am meeting with the Office of the MARA this Friday to determine who the next CEO is or will be, and to find out more details on 'who is going to do what' at OMARA from this point onwards.

Migration Alliance covered the story of Eddy Kang despite letters and threats from Eddy Kang's numerous lawyers.   With over 85,000 hits on our original news story regarding Eddy Kang it was obvious something was wrong.  Our original story was called 'Clients receive death threats, no job, no visa and no refund' on 16 October 2013.  Here's the story in 'The Australian' today:

AUTHORITIES have swooped on a man who ­allegedly targeted international students with false promises of a subclass-457 work visa in ­exchange for up to $45,000.

South Korean-born Eddie Kang, 51, a director of 20 registered companies, allegedly ­lodged visa applications under var­i­ous business names knowing they were likely to be rejected.

 I have spoken with the National Allegations Assessment Team (NAAT) today and they have requested that if anyone has information relating to Abel Kalpinand Prasad, in the first instance please send the information using the dedicated web-form.  The Department are working on it.   If people are willing to contact the Department directly then the following information has been sent by the DIBP to Migration Alliance:
