The Global Skills Attraction Fact Sheet and information below have been provided by the Department of Home Affairs' Immigration Outreach and Engagement Branch:
Following the Jobs and Skills Summit in September 2022, the Australian Government announced increases to the permanent Migration program from 160,000 to 195,000 to help address Australia’s skill shortage.
To address this priority, and in line with Ministerial Direction No. 100, the Global Talent officer (GTO) function has been realigned into a new model—the Global Skills Attraction (GSA) officer. GSAs target and attract a large volume of skilled migrants in priority sectors to Australia through the permanent skilled Migration Program.
GSA officers no longer consider and endorse requests for priority processing of an Expression of Interest from individuals or agents on behalf of individuals for the Global Talent Visa Program. The above GSA officer factsheet outlines their role and service offer.
