Repeat RMA Registrations and Office of the MARA delays

Migration Alliance has been in communication with the Office of the MARA today after receiving multiple calls and emails about delayed registration applications.

Regarding repeat registration applications

As long as an agent has lodged on time, or can show that they have made every attempt to lodge on time, and it was through no fault of their own that the application could not be lodged (ie OMARA website temporarily offline) there will be no disadvantage to them or their repeat registration application.

Currently it is taking the Office of the MARA approximately 8 weeks to allocate repeat registration applications.

The Office of the MARA would prefer that RMAs use the online contact form to make enquiries, instead of calling the office.

The Office of the MARA responds very quickly to web contact form enquiries.  If agents call the phone line then this takes the staff away from processing the registration applications, which won't help with delays.

The phone line is open from 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday.  The phones will not be answered outside these hours.
