New occupations are now added for the Orana regional area

Regional Development Australia – Orana is a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for the Orana region in New South Wales. We provide skilled migration services as part of an overarching regional workforce planning and development strategy.

As an RCB Orana assess the suitability of applicants to fill gaps in their existing labour market and recommend these applicants to the Department of Home Affairs or NSW Department of Industry.

This means they play a role in assessing eligibility for the following two visas:

  1. Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)We assess an applicant’s eligibility for state sponsorship.
  2. Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme visa (subclass 187) This is an employer sponsored visa with regional concessions. Orana assess whether the nominated worker is filling a regional skills need, and that their terms of employment will be equivalent to an Australian worker.
