The Office of the MARA has stated as follows to Migration Alliance this afternoon in relation to ImmiWork.com:
"The Office of the MARA have asked any RMA who has asked to have their profile removed, that they are removed. The OMARA's preference is that only those people who have opted in are listed on the website, and this is still subject to advice OMARA are obtaining internally".
It is on that basis that the proposed interview with ImmiWork's Daniel Shabrokh will be postponed until further advice from the Office of the MARA.

We have emailed both email addresses provided requesting the immediate removal of our firm's details, however are yet to receive a response and in fact have received delayed delivery messages (delivery to fail in another 24 hours). Are these email addresses being monitored or have they in fact been shut down?
While we also are excited to see the future of directly connecting service providers and clients globally via social media, we do stress the need that challenges many technology companies: adhering to regulation.
As a technology platform to connect certified migration professionals with our predominately Chinese mainland clients, we strongly insist that both client and service provider consent is required for any trust to be built between platforms like us and the people who use them. We do not "pre-sign up" accounts.
While the Chinese regulatory environment is lax compared to that of Australia, as technology companies we do need to adhere to the highest standard (currently being that of the Global Data Privacy Regulations (GDPR) of the European Union).
Let's hope the emerging and rapidly growing technology companies in the migration consulting sector keep to the highest level of privacy and professional consent, otherwise we lose the very credibility that we aim to preserve.
Let's also hope the OMARA don't go overboard and kill technology before it gets a chance to mature.
Agree with Joey Barnard.
A question not asked.... so far; who is automatically listed with this website? We know that RMA's have been "volunteered" without consent but does it also include Lawyers (who operate in this area), "Education Agents" and particularly - does it include the unregistered overseas hacks that the department assists with the dual gifts of
Into 2020 and this gets worse!
Appears that Google also brings up the same details on MARA website without consent from business owners. Unlike this one there’s no recourse for google and fake reviews because google is not even hosted in Australia !! (Grrr), anyone encountered this ??
Agree with Damien Lee if this is a change that is coming it needs to be done right, and non-MARA overseas “alleged agents” to be CLEARLY identified as not being RMAs, and I suspect they are poo-pooing our google reviews to make themselves look good with a flood of fake positive google reviews. So much for spending huge amounts on SEO ranking and advertising!! Grrr.
I haven't been asked a thing......
