"Serial conman" Korean, Eddie Kang still going!

I am following this case with immense interest, and with the hope that someone will finally put a stop to Mr Kang before he negatively impacts on anyone else's future.

The SBS has called him a "serial conman":

THE HISTORY OF EDDIE KANG

Here are previous articles on Mr Kang, including a Ministerial release about Kang:

DISTRICT COURT - 22 MARCH 2019

Mr Kang was due for sentencing on the 22nd of March at 9:30am at Parramatta District Court. Please see below.

https://onlineregistry.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/content/court-lists#/detail/20150004831618852155JudgmentDCAppeal/kang

The District Court has confirmed that Kang's appeal from his conviction has been adjourned till December 2019.  I will post the decision here once it is available.

SUPREME COURT

Also Mr Kang's Supreme Court action has been dismissed Kang v Bishop [2019] NSWCA 7

https://www.caselaw.nsw.gov.au/decision/5c5bb56de4b02a5a800be5e1

I will post a copy of the decision here on this page once it is published.

FEDERAL COURT

This is Mr Kang's federal court matter:

http://www.judgments.fedcourt.gov.au/judgments/Judgments/fca/single/2019/2019fca0186

It was dismissed but indicates that the Minister is still going through the visa cancellation process.

I suspect that whatever happened during the District Court proceedings on 22 March will have a big impact on the Ministers decision.

NCAT

A Senior Member (AM SC) of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) wrote to me last week stating as follows:

"I am writing a decision in which I will be ordering him personally to pay one of his victims $30,000"

KANG STILL IN BUSINESS?

I think Mr Kang is still in business.  Here is a copy of an advertisement that I think is to his business in North Sydney.

WEBSITE FOR RSMSAUSTRALIA.COM.AU - PHONE CALLS ARE STILL ANSWERED

An industry colleague of mine rang a few of the mobile numbers on the website mentioned in the above attachment 'Kang.pdf'.  The website has suddenly been taken offline but the cached version is still visible:

Last week, my colleague reported the following to me in writing:

"I rang the number for “Sean” 0421481042.  I asked about what visa he can help me with. People are picking the calls up and speaking Chinese and Korean."

LION SYMBOL FROM SINGAPORE OIL (Kang's previous company) CONNECTION

The website (rsmsaustralia.com.au) also had the Lion symbol from Singapore Oil which in my view connects Kang to RSMSAustralia.com.au.

PERSON ALERT LIST

Lastly, I hope that Mr Kang has been added to the Person Alert List (PAL) just in case he tries to skip the country to avoid payment of court-ordered fines and debts due.  The PAL is part of the broader Movement Alert List, and is an electronic database managed by the Department of Home Affairs. It relies on intelligence streams.  I am hoping this article is a good summary, of the pile of evidence against Mr Kang.  In May 2018, the PAL had 15,492 people listed because of organised immigration malpractice, and another 7830 because of identity issues.  Hopefully Mr Kang is one of those on that list.

FURTHER INFORMATION

If anyone has any further information on Mr Kang could you please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ?

If Mr Kang's lawyers need to write to me again and threaten me not to write about Mr Kang then they can email me on the same email address.  I don't care. I will be writing about Mr Kang. Thanks.

Good luck mate. He swindled hundreds of people and then he disappeared from the business without even spending a day in prison in Australia it’s quite hard to believe but he did it.
