Migration Alliance congratulates the new Prime Minister

Australia’s peak professional association for Registered Migration Agents, Migration Alliance, congratulates the Hon Scott Morrison on his appointment as Australia's thirtieth Prime Minister.

Founder of Migration Alliance, Liana Allan says, “Scott Morrison’s background as Australia's Minister for Immigration, and having spearheaded the Australian Border Force will best position the Government to see the potential of Australian immigration for this country. I believe that as Australia's next Prime Minister, Morrison will be a friend to Australian migration agencies and and improve on the notion that Australia is a number one global country of choice of migrants."

"Migration Alliance wants to work with the government on a vision for Australian immigration, and want policies that encourage migration agent business confidence and of course investment in the promotion of Australia as a key destination for new migrants."

Migration Alliance's policy priorities mirror some of the Australian Chamber - Tourism, and these include:

1. Improving International Competitiveness Reducing passenger movement charges and visa charges and speeding up reform for visas.

2. Investing in Labour and Skills Implementing the recommendations of the Austrade Tourism Labour and Skills Roundtable, and ensuring that the permanent skilled migration program, the temporary skilled migration program, and the business skills / investment-led migration programs meet the needs of employers in major cities, regional and rural communities.

A Morrison government is well placed to commit to a solid Australian immigration policy platform.
