Michael Jeremy through Legal Training Australia is kicking off Summer with a series of afternoon CPD at the University of New England Futures Campus in Parramatta.

The first in the series will be The Health Criteria.

The 3-Point CPD will cover the following.

• How the Minister has responsibility over the wellbeing of the Australian community through the Migration Act.
• The Public Interest Criteria -  4005, 4006A, 4007.
• What different standards of evidence apply to different visa applicants?
• The health waiver and how to investigate the circumstances of your client and present a great submission to the Department and to the Tribunal. Medical conditions such as HIV, obesity and autism included.
• The role of the Medical Officer of the Commonwealth (MOC) and what options you have if no health waiver is available.
• How to manage working with the health criteria into business management and to price your services for success and profit.
• How to use case law and Tribunal decisions to best advantage.

The workshop will have guest speakers who can illustrate the impact of the health criteria on visa applicants and migrants and bring the regulation and law to life.

Increasingly “health” is an issue in immigration practice and this CPD workshop will be hands-on and of benefit to any professional who wants greater confidence in dealing with it effectively.

Michael has nearly 20 years experience in the immigration industry and has delivered interesting and thought provoking CPD to the industry.

He is currently enrolled in a law degree at UNE and he is strong advocate of RMA’s up-skilling to improve their understanding of Australia’s most complex and dynamic area of law.
