Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
I have just watched the following satire on 'Minister for Men' played by Gretel Killeen. Covered by Women's Agenda and getting a huge hit rate on YouTube I would like to invite migration agents to watch this for a laugh.

Have your say. Do you think that Australia's Prime Minister, Mr Tony Abbott, should give the job of 'Minister for Women' to a woman, or do you think he should be Australia's Minister for Women?
The ASSISTANT Minister for Women is our very own Senator Michaelia Cash, who is also the ASSISTANT Immigration Minister.
No one has stated that a man CANNOT hold a senior position in relation to the status of women in a society or jurisdiction.
I stated that I considered the PM to hold such a position as inappropriate.
I fail to see how that is a comment that contains discriminatory matter or even innuendo.
MJ
By having Minister for Women we are creating a gender issue and implying that women need this special treatment when on the other side we ask for equality between the genders.
I am not sure why we need it and it appears so does Mr Abbott because he does not have one person appointed but only has assistant.
Under Labour government it was Minister for the Status of Women and then Abbott changed it to assistant again.
Why do we "need" a Minister for Women? is the wrong question.
The question could be what benefits would Australia potentially experience by having a Minister for Women.
The answer to this roll fairly freely - greater female participation in higher levels in society. greater wage parity. It is just a few decades age that women had to leave employment in the public sector if they got married.
The gender issue already exists. It's not a matter of "special treatment" its a matter of achieving the best for an individual, a community and the nation.
BTW - gay males achieve pay rates of 18% less than their heterosexual colleagues for the same work.
Yes.
It;'s absurd that a significant position in relation to the social, economic and political position of women in Australia is held by a male.
The Prime Minister, irrespective of any opinion I may hold about him, was not suitable candidate for this position.
The fact that the Hon. Michaelia Cash is "the assistant" makes it even more inappropriate.
So there.
