Eddy Kang finally arrested
Migration Alliance covered the story of Eddy Kang despite letters and threats from Eddy Kang's numerous lawyers. With over 85,000 hits on our original news story regarding Eddy Kang it was obvious something was wrong. Our original story was called 'Clients receive death threats, no job, no visa and no refund' on 16 October 2013. Here's the story in 'The Australian' today:
AUTHORITIES have swooped on a man who allegedly targeted international students with false promises of a subclass-457 work visa in exchange for up to $45,000.
South Korean-born Eddie Kang, 51, a director of 20 registered companies, allegedly lodged visa applications under various business names knowing they were likely to be rejected.
Clients demanding refunds were refused or threatened with violence, prosecutors will allege.
Mr Kang was arrested on Wednesday after a six-month investigation that culminated in a multi-agency operation that yielded laptops, computers, cameras and files from properties in North Sydney and inner-western Rozelle.
Other stories we ran on this were 'Eddy Kang continues to inflict harm' and 'Victims of Eddy Kang action group meeting' which was held at the Migration Alliance office on York Street in Sydney. Needless to say we are pleased he has finally been swooped on.

As to the "victims" as you choose to call them, not doing basic research, put yourself in the shoes of people seeking to come to Australia and been utterly confused when they land on the DIBP site. If you were in Parliament, you would be asked to withdraw your remarks.

given the vast sums of money involved .....I have serious concerns about what they knew and how they met Kang and what cooperation was there until they realized they had been done .
To suggest they are innocent lambs is naive. I would suggest most of these 'victims ' were up to there eyeballs jointly with Kang in providing ' documents ' etc They must have know something was rotten . They paid the cash to Mr Fixit . How can we protect those who cant even take basic steps in the dangerous world of international migration consultancy to protect themselves ?? Any consultation with any RMA would have advised these 'victims' its a scam.
The real issue is OMARA and departmental incompetence in failing to take immediate action . -

It looks like Kang is still operating, I have been looking into jobs that may take over my 457 visa and when applying to these positions I then get spammed by Kang from his many email addresses.
I googled his name as the emails looked very suspect with terrible broken English and I found this article so thankfully I did not fall for his scams and reported him to google for phishing emails.

I'm sure he has many more fake job advertisements to try and lure people in. It Does not surprise me that the DIBP failed to warn applicants. From my personal experience all they care about is taking your money and they're never willing to help when it is needed. -

Does anyone know the outcome of the latest court hearing? How is this scumbag still roaming the streets of North Sydney! It looks like he did the same thing in NZ and was sent to Australia - it's time to move along to the next Country Kang....

Visalaw, oil Singapore, mcl, skyland, rsms457... Is the same owner, Eddie Kang. He are trying to keep people's money until they can have a chance to stay here to ask money back. The refund policy should be considered because it takes time to sue then he de-registered mcl.

Eddie Kang have a policy for full refund but actually if u sue him, he wont refund. But overseas students have to leave Australia when visa expire. So that is the process of trap people. I went to court, it took long term to have final decision. Hv to pay for lawyer. But court order is ignored. He deregisterd his company.

A funny story, I called him then he said will refund today after 9pm. Then nothing. Do u know why he said that?maybe around him have a customer and show that he is nice.
He tried to delay to hope that I hv to come back my country. But I hope I will stay here and report him. He is a robery in suit and glasses. I want to have a website to let victims know about him. -

I decided to sue him. I will lost $10,000 but he will lose more. I am happy to do that. If anyone want to support my case let me know.
Do you know, he say fuck ....he is very gentle when people r around him and me. He has 2 faces. When I signed contract with him, he agreed all my condition. But after payment, he didn't do as the contract said. But he can sign anything. A big company sign a contract is 45,000$, but when the anz bank do garnishe,force him pay, account has only 1,500.
I want to contact media, ASIC.....and I will do everything to make him Lear a lesson, not trap a person, like me. I will do it on this Monday. -

He said that I breached contract although he didn't do anything as contract said. So funny. I cant believe that a person can say whatever is still there. I believed that he is nice until he said fuck...yesterday he said he refund me because I am a lady!my god. 18months went pass. My money in his hand. I hv to study continuously to keep visa and sue him. My money is still in his hand 11,000. I dont know why someone say they will fight back?what does it mean. It is easy to make him bankrupt. It is easy. But my money is still there.

I am also one of the victim who paid as thousands of money to him. At first, i was looking for a job relating to dental technology because i was studying that course. But i went there to see the job, instead of giving me the details about that job, he was asking my visa status and all sorts of things. Hope the AFP investigation has gone through well and hope my money will get refund back!

Eddie Kang is currently on trial at the Parramatta Criminal Court where it will conclude on Friday. I suggest if you want to see if justice is going to be served on him go along to the court house to watch.

Hi. I have worked with this man in the beginning of jan this year only for a short while but this man decided not to oay me for the days I worked for his company. I was obviously pissed off for not getting paid and I find articles of Eddie Kang ( Ted Kang ) on 22 federal charges and by the looks of the article this man is not meant to be running a business but his is in fact still running a company named Goldman Pintex Management. I am really angry at how this man has treated me and it is so unfair that a man like this could still be running a company. I have contacted fairwork ombudsman but they told me that they cannot help me with anything. Is there any organisation or anyone that can help me do something about this man?

I have no doubt some of the 'victims' provided false documentation as requested by Mr Kang.
