Here is a tip sheet for migration agents in regard to the re-opening of applications tomorrow. We encourage agents to read this in conjunction with the Essential Information document.

It is a disaster like it was in July, I daresay even a bigger one... any idea whether the whole intake is full again and they simply did not bother to close the application so hopefuls would not keep trying in vain? Or the system is so badly frozen that it simply cannot proceed with payment? I try to pay for an application for 2 hours and the system just keeps crashing. There should be professionals designing the application system and it is monumental failure for the second time in row. Awfully frustrating well beyond "inconvenience"...
What I'd like to know is that whether anyone has actually managed to lodge any applications today? After 3 hours of struggling with their system which kicked me off as soon as I pressed "pay" or in most instances didn't even open the application form at all (in addition to Google Chrome I tried Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari) it now appears that the link to the application has now been removed (i.e. the applications are closed) as it now comes up with a 404 error
I just spent three most frustrating hours trying to lodge NSW state nomination application for subclass 190. From the moment the intake opened at 10am, the http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/ site rendered itself completely useless and unresponsive. The application form just wouldn't load properly and would simply time out. I tried Chrome as advised and Firefox out of desperation. My browser has all required specifications and my connection was not at fault. After about 1.5 hours NSW published a note saying the demand for the application was too great and that "some" people might experience difficulties accessing the application form. They also gave a "very useful" advice to keep refreshing the browser!
After three hours of constantly bashing my head and refreshing 3 browsers, I managed to successfully load the form three times. All three times however the form just timed out and failed after completing and trying to lodge it!!! I sent them a request via email letting them know about the problem. I also lodged a support ticket.
And finally, they published this just after 1pm:
Important notice - October 2014 intake - 22 October 2014
Due to high volumes, the application process for state nominated skill migration has temporarily closed. A further update will be posted on Friday 24 October 2014.
Thank you for your patience. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
All this time I had my client on Skype from overseas for whom the time was deep at night. Very frustrated!
Does anyone managed to succeed and lodge an application?
Would greatly appreciate if anyone can suggest anything that can be done in this situation.
I have managed to push one in, but another few got stranded. I believe that one was only sheer luck, as I have not closed the browser when it did not bring up the payment page but rather kept refreshing when crashed, and it might have kept the saved info as after 50 minutes of "patience" the payment page suddenly came in, and after hastily typing in the credit card details I was rewarded with a reference number 1100-1200 (wierd...).
This is the most ill-conceived, unpredictable, and badly managed system I have ever encountered and I'm working with GSM for years. It is no secret and takes an hour to look up that NSW sponsorship criteria are the easiest and allow for the widest rage of prospective applicants to have chance compared to other states. Seriously, how could those responsible for managing the NSW 190 program underestimate the demand with such a long shot the second time? Especially when many of us professionals working on the field have already predicted something similar.
And another note: they might consider to reopen the IT occupations as in the light of today's colossal IT failure they could use a few of them...
According to reports there were 3,500 people on the application form at one time, all beating on the system trying for 1,000 positions. Given the repeat of the IT fiasco of July, they might as well make it a lottery and save the trouble and expense of pretending that their IT systems are up to the challenge - the idea that "first come, first served" happened here simply didn't happen - it was pure luck - who managed to get through the IT problems and was "lucky" enough to get to the payment page and pay.
The demand for today's intake was 100% predictable, and it really makes you wonder who at NSW is going to take responsibility for these disasters. The effect on applicants whose hopes have been dashed as a result of what appears to be blatant, repeated incompetence on the part of NSW Skilled in terms of providing a system that can handle the obvious and predictable demand of applicants is hard to put a price tag on. You can only hide behind the old "the grant of an Australian visa is a privilege, not a right" excuse for so long - even that doesn't excuse incompetence by people who seem to literally be making up the rules as they go along, all the while being paid handsome salaries to provide professional systems that are anything but. Unbelievable.
I don't believe this! What a shameful process they put people through! Hours after hours of trying and trying, and now have to explain to the client the it's not me who's an incompetent agent, but rather NSW Government that is not capable of building a simpli intake system.
They just closed it at 11:10am.
Shame on you NSW.
It's an absolute disgrace. Applicants in Europe were staying up all night in front of their computers at 3 AM for a second time after the botched attempt on Wednesday, all in vain once again. The phrase on their website "Applicants who have lodged an application and who still need to supply additional information, attachments or complete full payment will be contacted directly" makes ZERO sense, since it's actually physically impossible to lodge an application without attachments or full payment-the system wouldn't have let you submit without those things!
Like a fool I am refreshing the page from 10:00 AM and now it is 12;45 to get accessed to the State Nomination Form for subclass 190 , but the form does not appear due the technical problem. This is the 2nd intake and the issue of the website remained the same.
The manager of NSW Migration team should resign from the job as s/he is incompetent . Migration Alliance expressed the concern of migration agents for technical problems of the website at the first intake . But s/he said everything is under control ..
