"You don't migrate to this country unless you want to join this team"
I think that there's not much else than can be said about the concept of 'Team Australia', other than about how divisive and politically incorrect comments impact negatively on potential permanent residents; you know, the ones who are compliant and willing to invest their energy and funds to migrate here, often jumping through a number of 'burning hoops', only to find that they may not be the right colour, nor have the right accent or practice the right religion as does 'Team Australia'.
A great shame, really... This tall tale is all about what migrating to Oz is going to be like for the next little while, and how DIBP is likely to 'deal with' non-team' players (whoever these may be from time to time, depending on what's happening politically).
Couple the above with the lack of transparency, black listing and the overall punitive approach to the industry and its members. we will have our work cut out for us and, hey, we may also be branded 'non Team Players' - who knows...
A bit despondent today... it must be all that rain in Sydney....
What about the hundred's of UK Nurses, issued with Skilled Visas, who re-located to Australia only to have their nursing registration refused by AHPRA? Too many cooks doing the broth Tony! Brining migrants to Oz to go on the dole is not really, a very good "Team" ethic!
