Why does it feel so good...so good to be bad?

So it's a Friday night and I am kicking back with a glass of red after a great week with Migration Alliance.

Just watched this clip (below) and so much of it strikes a chord with me.

The video starts with a news item which asks the viewer "End of the World?"  and then follows with print media doing a piece on zombies.  In the mean time, the background is full of digital media screens.  The entire clip is a mix between Roy Lichtenstein style art pieces and street art of the modern era.   Lichtenstein was famous for his works on parody and 'tongue in cheek' humour which makes this an excellent choice for the message in this video.

A woman is seen tightly doing up her seat belt as if she is going to be going on a fast, dangerous ride somewhere.  Then on the screen appears a bunch of people with ripped flesh and arms raised, as if trying to get out from behind barbed wire.  To me that creates a vivid picture in my mind about refugees behind fences and people, who seem to be classified as zombies, being jailed.

The interesting part of the clip is the concept of a female who appears to be under constant surveillance and is being monitored by 'thought police' or 'originality police'.  It looks like zombie apocalypse.

There are humanoid creatures moving in strange, staccato moves.  One zombie wears a picture of a hamburger on his top, and another zombie with the words '100% pure beef' on his top.   This brings me to the state of today's media and how we are controlled by their attempted messaging.   It is said that there is a belief that McDonald's puts cow eyeballs in its products, permitting it to brand them as "100% beef". A related claim is that McDonald's buys its meat from a company called "100% beef", making it possible for McDonald's to call beef by-products and soy products "100% beef".  The artist that developed this video is, in my view playing on this theme.

The woman in the video presents a "zombified" man from a group of uniformly dancing zombies, with a real moving, thinking, pulsing brain in the palm of her hand.  It's the fresh concept of real , genuine thought in amidst zombies.  The woman convinces the zombie to join her.

Anyone who might dare to become a thinker and break away from obeying the zombies, is to be exterminated.  Jets fly in the sky and tanks are roaming in the background.

Using military spy equipment, fighter jets and patrol vehicles, the military roam about with digital devices. Armed forces move about in panic-mode and look like the Stasi from East Germany (described as one of the most effective and repressive intelligence and secret police agencies to ever have existed).  These 'Stasi' try to stop the woman from getting away and thinking for herself.....her and her new defector.

It reminds me of myself (minus the cool-chick and the bike) in my daily dealings with parts of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and other government departments.

For me, the video produced by David Guetta and Showtek, is a modern dialogue about an old theme.  It is about thought police.  It is about message control and the loss of government control in the digital era.

In today's era, anyone with access to a computer can be a news writer, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.  For anyone who has ever found it hard to stand up to government, this video may give you some inspiration.

Digital disruption is winning.  Government control of free thought and 'truth' is over.

Now onto coming off the PC to enjoy my non-digital life, far away from the eyes of the government.

Enjoy!

Brilliant. Liana .... You are where you are now and brought the profession to where it is now because of who you are. Never stop rescuing the bureaucrats from themselves or their destinies. They are in a synchronized waltz towards a boring, dull, death. And Liana you are a cool chick and you don't need a bike. Your looks and brains will carry you anywhere. Agents need you in there fighting their corner. Thanks a lot from us all.

Fantastic. The exchange of the brain in the film clip is interesting. He's holding it. Is it his brain? Did she give it to him? Was he hiding his brain from the thought police? She's touching it to check it's really 'real'. It seems she rescues him as he's salvageable. What a terrific analogy for migration alliance.

Getting jiggy wid it and Elizabeth 1 from DIBP - this is a joke right Liana?

You and Levingston sit around making up these names do you? You are both as mad as each other.

How about you tell everyone that you are only interested in being in politics and you are using them all to try and raise you piddling profile.

Hey getting jggy wid it - don't leave your day job

I know liana pretty well. 100% sure she's not interested in a political career. I'm surprised the moderator let your comments on here. As for Christopher well he's not anything like Liana. They are two very different people. In defence of Liana, she's a nice person and I find her thinking style original and intelligent . This might be a case of tall poppy syndrome. Jealousy.

Liana thanks for sharing. This industry sure is interesting.

It seems someone on here is jealous of the success of Liana and Christopher.

Interestingly someone is using a pseudo of me to post their views about me on my blog. May I invite the person who made the comment using the name 'Liana Ross' to come forward and and say who they are? It's very easy to be mean in a vacuum. I can assure you me and Christopher are very different people with very different approaches.

To confirm, I am not interested in a political career. I am not sure where that rumour started.
