Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
Watch this great and inspirational story about Jeremy, the Indigenous Australian working at the DIBP:
http://www.immi.gov.au/News/Pages/jeremys-journey.aspx
At the end of the film, it states:
INDIGENOUS CAREERS INFORMATION:
www.immi.gov.au/about/careers/indigenous-careers.htm
When typing in the above address the user is re-directed to the following web-page which contains nothing about Indigenous Careers:
http://www.immi.gov.au/About/Pages/careers/working-with-us.aspx
Rightfully, an Indigenous Australian would assume that there is a dedicated web-page at the DIBP for Indigenous Australians just like the link says. But there isn't. One word: Disappointing.
I have now scoured the Office of the MARA website and found nothing about Indigenous Australians who may wish to become Registered Migration Agents. I will write to the CEO today asking him to consider including this as part of the diversity initiative. I am sure there will be plenty of debate around the English Testing of Aboriginal Australians.
