Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
What is it?
The SALPT is a tool developed to assist Registered Migration Agents and individual applicants to present their assets and liabilities position properly. It explains how a client built their wealth and formed their net asset position. The SALPT has a process made up of two parts to complete the whole package:
Part 1: Collate the financial information from the client and present it in a more comprehensive way so that it is better accepted by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), with less chance of DIBP questioning the client, and for an increased chance of visa grant.
Part 2: A business background story is drafted based on information that the migration agent and client provide to promote an entrepreneurial image, and better explain the applicant’s background.
PwC lends credibility to the application, which goes beyond immigration law. PwC lifts the client’s application using expertise and a background in finance.
When do you use it?
The SALPT is used the whole way through the SIV preparation process, from the initial consultation with the client until the SIV application is submitted to the DIBP. Consistency is important with SIV applications so the SALPT takes a strategic and consistent approach when collating a SIV client ‘s financial information. The SALPT system is helpful for the migration agent and their client. PwC would like to join the migration agent and their client for the first consultation. This can be either a conference call or a face-to-face meeting. PwC will work with the migration agent and assist the migration agent to assess the client eligibility by providing the migration agent and client with a high-level net-assets position form to collect information from clients.
Once it is confirmed that the agent and PwC are jointly taking on a client, PwC will provide the migration agent with checklists to ensure that the agent is asking for valid, sufficient and appropriate documents which will be used to build the SALPT and visa application itself.
How much does it cost?
Each registered member of Migration Alliance will receive a $2,000-$5,000 reduction in PwC’s ordinary price for this service.
Pwc market rate: AUD$15,000 - $20,000
PwC wholesale rate for MA members: AUD$13,000 - $18,000 (QUOTE CODE PWC-MA)
Migration Agents must be members of Migration Alliance to obtain the MA wholesale rate.
How do I stop my client from leaving me and starting with PwC after they are introduced?
At no point will PwC take-over a client, or allow a client of a migration agent to engage PwC’s migration services instead of the original introducing migration agent. PwC does not want to complete the migration work for migration agents who introduce their clients to the SALPT.
Why use PwC?
PwC are the owners of the SALPT system. PwC developed it. They have a team of experts specialising in financial and taxation aspects of high-end clients migrating to Australia. PwC understand the financial needs of high-net-worth visa applicants.
