Migration Alliance's new editor/ journalist - Jerry Gomez
Migration Alliance is pleased to announce that Jerry Gomez (pictured below) has been appointed as our new editor / journalist.
Jerry Gomez resides in the state of Victoria and was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 31 August 2001. Jerry also holds a current Victorian Practicing Certificate (unrestricted).
We believe that Jerry will be a perfect fit for the migration advice profession as Jerry has also been a Registered Migration Agent (MARN 0854080) since 2008.
It was important for Migration Alliance to appoint a person with sound legal knowledge and expertise as well as a person with a journalistic background. Jerry holds a Diploma in Law, Legal Practitioners Admission Board and is a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Postgraduate Diploma in Management and
Bachelor of Arts, obtained in Singapore.
Jerry runs Gomez Partners Lawyers & Consultants which founded in 2008. Jerry’s law practice focuses on immigration law and, business and property law. Jerry advises on visa applications, prepares special submissions and represents clients at the Migration Review Tribunal. The practice follows up immigration work with business and property law advice.
From 2001-2007 to this, Jerry was a Solicitor in Content Rights Management with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). During his time with the ABC Jerry worked in the Content Rights Management Advisory service and advised on the commercial, contractual and legal aspects of program production; talent engagement; content acquisition and licensing across television, radio, online, home-video and new media.
Previous to this, Jerry was an Editor/Writer, for Property Link, Property Review, SEA Traveller from 1992-1999. During his time withP Property Link Jerry managed the entire publication process from concept to print of the listed magazines. He developed editorial, editorial policies, and planned the features of the publications. He wrote, edited articles and developed the look and content of magazines and interviewed senior management and analysed and summarised reports.
From 1990-1992 Jerry was a Marketing Officer with the Television Corporation of Singapore. During this time he created and implemented marketing strategies for TV programs, personalities and products and managed media enquiries and publicity.

We are pleased to have Jerry on board and believe that his skills and expertise will bring a new depth to the news and information released by Migration Alliance. Jerry is set to release his first news articles within the next two weeks.

Thursday, 12 December 2013Congratulations Jerry and welcome on board and congratulations MA for being able to not only keep the Membership informed and updated, but also to actively seek to bring on board highly skilled people within the industry who have an understanding of how law interacts with human beings, particularly potential and aspiring residents to Australia who are often confused, misinformed and vulnerable. Jerry, you also have my vote because anyone who masters the Diploma of Law with the LPAB requires particular skills and commitment to get through (as someone who knows first hand). Look forward to meeting you in upcoming MA events.
