Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
Here is some important FEEDBACK about the New ImmiAccount and some problems that have been shared with Migration Alliance this morning from one of our members:
'1. None of the Correspondence from Case Officers are showing up
2. Grant letter link is there, but cannot view any of the Grant Letters
3. Applications that are Finalised are showing as “In Progress”. In my case, examples are the following TRNs: EGNU1XXXXX, EGNTXXXXX and EGNSXXXXX.
Can the status of these Applications with these TRNs, please be changed from “In Progress” to “Finalised”, as the Visas for these clients have already been granted a while ago.
4. Online Applications lodged in 2008 and earlier, like Subclasses 176 and 475, are not showing up in the List of Applications, and my colleagues have told me, they are not able to import them either.
5. We are not logged into LegendCom and VEVO, when we log into ImmiAccount. Also, the LegendCom Password has not changed. I still have to use the previous LegendCom Password to Login to LegenCom. The ImmiAccount login and Password does not work in Legendcom. We were told it should all be one Login and one Password.
6. How do we remove from view in the List of Applications, old Applications that have already been finalised a while ago?
I remember in the MIA Seminar when we spoke to you Mark, we were told that we can modify the view in the List of Applications, and have only Applications “In Progress”, “Incomplete”, or “Submitted” in view. That would make sense, as we don’t always need to look at the 100s if not 1000s of Applications that have been “Finalised”, unless we have appealed the Decision in MRT or AAT.
Also, we were told that we should be able to import Paper Applications that have been lodged as well, through ImmiAccount. But the current functionality in ImmiAccount does not allow that.
A Great thanks for making the Partner Applications Online, and applying a Common Sense approach by leaving the option for Paper Applications open.
If you can also look into making the Parent Visa Applications (currently processed in Perth) Online, that will be a great help. Parent Visa Applications are usually less complicated than Partner Visa Applications, and are all centrally processed at the Perth Parent Visa Centre. So, converting it to Online should not be as complicated as the Partner Visas. Also, the Perth Parent Visa Centre is taking almost 3 months just to acknowledge an application. They also send receipts by snail mail, and are not always even registered. Look forward to your implementing this (Parent Visa Online Filing Option) in the future.
Finally, Mark, you mentioned the Online Visa Application Option for all Student Visa Assessment Levels (only Assessment Level 1, 2 and 3 from January 2014), Onshore and Offshore, for ALL countries, like, GSM and ENS, will be available from June 2014, or by August 2014, at the latest. And that you will finally discontinue the Assessment Level 2-4 Trials. Is this still the case, and are you still proceeding with this implementation as discussed? This will also help us a lot for future Student Visa Applications.'
Update 12:53pm 10/12/2013 ImmiAccount not working:
Searching the net to trys resove our login problem, found this site
System works great, only last few forms to submit, but DO NOT loose your username or password (saved on stickies not dropbox, pc crashed)
I cannot get the info from the site. have requested username/ password countless times. I cannot get any help from anyone, all return mails refer me back to the login site.
There is no contact number on the site if you are outside Australia. I have contacted the local Australian Consulate as instructed but was just referred back to the login page to try the lost password link, to no avail, again. Our sponsor has been trying from that side but to date nothing
Most frustrating
lodged a 457 application yesterday, dint really think it was better, certainly spent more time on the site uploading the attachments was a nightmare, you have to attach separate documents for each applicant were as before you could upload all the passport pages for a family in one attachment, you have to scroll the list of documents to attach to find the one you want this is very time consuming as you don't need to do all this. liked it the way it was before.
Agents can report technical issues regarding ImmiAccount by submitting online form:
http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/agents/online-services/technical-support.htm/
I love the new account and the list of application lodged in the past 18 months. I was able to import online application for student visas that are not yet finalized and also that were lodged by a colleague with AL2-4 trial account.
I did see some that are finalized saying in Progress and some that are not saying finalized.
The attachments part is nightmare as Sandy mentioned, I liked the old way. The attachments like Skills Select are very confusing with one documents sometimes found in multiple sections and takes ages to find the correct document. I guess it will take time to get used or just use OTHER for all attachments as short cut :-)
In addition to my Feedback about the New ImmiAccount posted by Liana Allan above, here are some additional comments:
Thanks to Mark McGuire (Director, DIBP Digital Services and Transactions Section) and company, for an excellent effort and a job well done!
The ImmiAccount is a huge leap in functionality, ease of use, and client management, compared to what we had before.
I'm sure they'll work on the problems we have mentioned above, and fix them as soon as they can, so ImmiAccount becomes the tool we expected it to be.
I think DIBP made a wrong Policy Decision to only import Online Applications that are up to 5 years old from 6th December 2013. That means any Online Application from 1st September 2007 (I believe that's when Online GSM Applications were introduced) to 5th December 2008, will not be picked and imported by their import script. There may be thousands of Applications filed by Agents from 1st September 2007 to 5th December 2008, and processing for family sponsored Priority Group 5 Applications in this category have been frozen for many years now. A look at DIBP's estimated Allocation Times Webpage will show that allocation for family sponsored Subclass 176 and 475 Applications have not yet commenced. DIBP should therefore, have these Applications included in their import script, otherwise with e-Visa gone, Agents will have no access to them.
One of my colleagues have already raised this concern with Mark, and he was told they are currently working on them.
Note that Agents are not able to even manually import these applications using the import button and the TRN. So, it is a cause of concern.

I lodged my first 457 family visa application today. I couldn't download the Record of Responses and apparently I cant attach documents until the application is "in progress", being that it is only "submitted" at this stage. Surely this is unacceptable.
So now I have to readdress this application in the future which is not the preferred method of having everything lodged and attached so I can move forward with another client. I have to waste time checking this applications status so I can finalise the application.
The HAP id didn't work on this particular application either. Not sure what the issue is there.
Also, I have a lodged application imported that tells me its "finalised" but the visa has not yet been approved (confirmed with case officer).
I have another lodged application that wont import.
I hope all these issues get fixed promptly. They make for very inefficient time management.
Things I have found out, please correct me if I am wrong, are mentioned bellow;
There is no special login area for the Migration Agent .
There are no options for offshore GSM visas ( e.g;subclass 189,190,489).
education agents and Tourism agents are mentioned but no migration agents are mentioned in the initial form.
Anybody can lodge any number of applications from the immiaccount.
Migration Agents are not looked after properly, rather it is derogatory of the profession, I believe.
I have an immi account but only gives me an access to VEVO. I already requested for access to visa lodgement since Monday but up to now, I still receiving the "error" message.
Also every I sent an email follow-up to the support email but not receive any call or email.
I need to lodge applications for my clients but don't know what and when will I get the access to visa lodgement.
Please help.
Thanks

SET UP MY ACCOUNT WITH IMMI SENT A REQUEST TO ADD VEVO TO MY ACCOUNT HAVE HEARD NOTHING, NO EMAIL NO MESSAGE LEFT ON IMMI ACCOUNT TO SAY ACKNOWLEDGMENT RECEIVED NOTHING HOW DO WE EVEN KNOW THEY RECEIVED IT
Same here, I have set up the account, sent the request on Wednesday, and no response, no acknowledgement, nothing. I've got a few applications I really need to lodge now, so any ideas? should I just just set up an account for a client and lodge the visas individually or the agent account will become available in any reasonable time? any ideas?
Hi.. I applied a partner visa online. After lodgement, it only shows "Submitted" not "In progress". In addition, not able to link to the sponsorship application as the sponsorship application keeps showing "The applicant is unable to continue this application as the related application details cannot be confirmed. The applicant may wish to review the information entered in this application prior to continuing". Even all the details are correct..
I got exactly the same error message appearing when I tried to lodge an EN 186 visa. I sent an email to: E-Service Support , told them the issue and they fixed my problem in less than 2 hours. The IT support person (Paul) was so helpful and so patient, the kind of person we need in this industry now that we are going hi-tech!
I had the same error on the first partner visa I submitted. However, I realised that I had not actually lodged the partners side of the application. Once I lodged and paid for that, I was able to continue with the sponsors application.
I find that my partner side is in progress, but even days later, the sponsors side is still saying submitted.
I must say the partner visas are very time consuming to lodge online and the new information required, I feel, is complete useless.
I lodged a Subclass 309/100 partner visa application online. There are two applications that has to be submitted online
1. Application for migration to Australia by a partner – I submitted this application successfully and have paid the DIBP fees with credit card. The ImmiAccount status shows the record of responses and also the DIBP receipt. The online system requires submission of partner application before proceeding to sponsorship for a partner application.
2. However, when enter sponsor’s details, I am not not able to progress past the critical information page for Sponsorship for a partner to migrate to Australia. We receive an error message below:
The applicant is unable to continue this application as the related application details cannot be confirmed. The applicant may wish to review the information entered in this application prior to continuing’.
I have checked and checked all the details but not able to find any errors and I am now at a loss on what I can do. I contacted technical support who have advised me that they have not received any complaints from any one. I would like to know if any migration agent has successfully lodged both the application for partner and sponsor's application online.
Any advise will be much appreciated.
We also tried to lodge an online Subclass 820 visa application but the DIBP payment that was requested was $3085 which is the incorrect amount and we did not proceed with the application and lodged a paper application.
I have successfully lodged both sides of an offshore partner. I did get the message you have originally, but at that stage I had only prepared and not actually lodged the partners application, so sorry, that is not much use to you. Once I returned and actually lodged the partners application I was able to proceed with the sponsors application.
On a side note, mine was for Philippines and two days after I lodged, I received a document request for the original birth certs required. I was very impressed and am hoping this is indicative of very fast processing times for online lodgements.
The incorrect vac is vital to be reported. That is a dangerous error in their system.
