A member of Migration Alliance, and Registered Migration Agent, John Young, received the following email from the Department of Home Affairs today:
"Due to COVID-19 and the global travel bans, no Bridging Visa B’s for travel are being granted.
The applicant can depart on their current Bridging Visa A but would need to apply for a new visa to enter Australia if their intention is to return, bearing in mind the travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.

Unless you get the travel exemption below as set out by DOHA you cannot travel back.
You can only travel to Australia if you are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident or are a New Zealand citizen usually resident in Australia.
Travelers who have a compassionate or compelling reason to travel to Australia will need to have an exemption from the Australian Border Force Commissioner.
All travelers arriving in Australia must undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities (for example, a hotel), in their port of arrival.
