Dear Migration Alliance Members
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you all on the board of Migration Alliance Inc.
I have decided to resign from the position of Secretary, immediately.
This is a difficult decision for me as I have dearly loved serving on the management committee of Migration Alliance since its inception.
It has been clear to me that it is best for me to step down, for the sake of mending the relationship with the Department.
I will continue to hold Migration Alliance in a special place in my heart, until my last breath.

It was dirrected at the first post of this blog. Funny how that was deemed ok?
There is no fury but thank you for your indignation.
IMHO people can be irrational be they left or right. I really don't care what they call themselves, it's when they play the player and not the game it's a bit sad.
Hi Liana,
Although we have never seen each other but it wouldn't bother our mutual understanding and exchange ideas in the forum.
My sincere appreciation for all your professional endeavors and dedication ever contributed in assisting and airing on behalf of the industry, especially the RMA in their critical time such as the challenge of IELTS test and desire abolishing unfavorable condition on RMAs. Being a bit surprised but understandable for your announcement, in particular, your sensible role and position in MA. On the other hand, nothing surprised about the insinuation or even smear that may likely occur upon you in the stressful and politically impacted environment. my farewell for you will be no matter what happens, let's learn how to swim in the ocean and survive righteously in the unpredictable secular society. Hope to hear from you soon with joy and take care!
Laina, it has been a great pleasure and motivating to have worked with you and waged many battle against the system that does not respect the Agents. It was people like Chris MacGrath and Susan with MA that a battle was waged against the OLD MARA (MIA) to prevent the IELTS requirements for re registration. Individually we could not have made a dent but for the support of Liana and MA that we stood firm. Whatever Liana I wish you best in your future direction.

Dear Liana,
It's frustrated to see you are leaving the MA.
Migration Agents have been assisting to bring the talents and investment into Australia over many years. The Government should say thanks to their contribution.Without agents's efforts, Australia might not be able to get those talents and investment and continue its good economy over years.
We appreciate your efforts to the members and agents.
All the best!
Liana will not be far away. I just know it.
The sudden resignation with mention of the Department says to me she is leaving because of something they have done or want from her.
I always think Liana will look out for us all. I believe in my heart that Liana is resigning for the MA members, but for reasons we cannot yet see. I always trust Liana to make choices, even to disappear, for our sakes.
I truly sit in my chair and wonder how long she will be down before she resurfaces.
Liana,
For the battle to maintain our professional independence and to resist bullying and becoming subservient to the Department (or politically correct like MIA's behavior) would you be able to give us some indication where and how the pressure was mounted on you. It is not like you and Christopher to crumble that easily when you have the support of the whole professional membership behind you. I would have willingly joined the battle . I have been dealing with the department for 27 years without fear or favor from the Department, Mara or OMARA. In fact I am in the process of writing a complain letter against OMARA to the Minister for negligence of their duty for failing to investigate one the department Ex senior diplomat PMO for money laundering to assist a 892 visa holder .
We will miss you badly however, you should not stop voicing your concern on behalf of the Industry. Within a spate of few years, you and your cohorts have shaped up the industry for the better of us all. We will always be grateful to you for mounting such a fight and we hope you will always do the right thing by us. I wish you good luck in your next endeavour.
Sorry to hear that you are leaving. I know the loony left didn’t like you (but then they really don’t like anyone…..even themselves) but to the rest of us you were an inspiration.
I hope you still continue posting.
