Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
Dear Colleages
As you are aware, since it's inception Migration Alliance has sought to promote and protect the interests of Registered Migration Agents (RMAs).
Migration Alliance has just written to Senator Cash providing a comprehensive suite of documents (see below for copies) including submissions, briefing papers and draft legislative instruments designed to shut down unregistered practice.
These initiatives were comprehensively neglected by the former Labor government and what we would like you to do is to make contact with your local Federal Member of Parliament to have them support this initative which will for the first time offer comprehensive protection to vulnerable consumers by eliminating once and for all unregistered practice.
If you would like assistance in the drafting of a letter to your local Federal Member then please contact the Convenor of Migration Alliance, Christopher Levingston on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Migration Alliance encourages all RMAs to write to the Hon. Senator Michaelia Cash, Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection:

Subject: initiative to put a stop to unregistered migration practice
Dear George Christensen,
I am writing to you as your constituent to seek your support for an important initiative to put a stop to unregistered , unqualified and uninsured persons giving immigration assistance to vulnerable consumers.
The attached initiatives reflect the real community concern about unscrupulous and unregistered persons who occupy the migration advice space and mislead members of the public.
I would very much appreciate it if you could write to the Honourable Senator Cash supporting these important initiatives.
Migration Alliance I am member of , has just written to Senator Cash providing a comprehensive suite of documents (see below for copies) including submissions, briefing papers and draft legislative instruments designed to shut down unregistered practice.
These initiatives were comprehensively neglected by the former Labur government and need to be finally addressed.

There was a survey conducted by Migration Alliance some time ago and 92.5 % of the participants responded positively that unregistered agents should be stopped from being able to lodge the application to DIB , I was wondering whether this information passed to Senator Cash by Migration Alliance? Here is the link to the survey:
