Can the Office of the MARA do it's own Public Relations please? DIBP advise public on complaints and monitoring of RMAS

The Office of the MARA spent $0.00 on advertising the services of Registered Migration Agents last financial year.

$0.00

https://www.mara.gov.au/ClientFiles/AnnualReports/2012-2013/appendices.htm#2

See the annual report link above where you will find the sentence:

"Appendix 2: Advertising and market research

The Authority did not undertake any advertising campaigns in 2012–13."

The DIBP are advertising the use of Registered Migration Agents.  The DIBP are advertising the Office of the MARA.  The DIBP don't even send the public to the Office of the MARA's website.  They send people to a summary page about the Office of the MARA.  Here is the link the public are sent to from DIBP's facebook post.

http://www.immi.gov.au/about/reports/annual/2012-13/html/performance/outcome_1/office_of_the_mara.htm

Essentially the DIBP have published information on how to monitor our conduct and manages complaints about 'them' (meaning agents).  Haven't the DIBP got anything more positive they can say than that?  How about the benefits of using a RMA?

Where are the separation of powers?

Why can't OMARA communicate and do PR themselves?

To have your say just follow the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on facebook.

See my post below.

Since DIBP took over the OMARA and the OMARA pretended that they were independent the running of the cold war against RMAs has shifted up a gear.

DIBP hates RMAs because we know what we are talking about.

For years I have dealt with compliance officers bad mouthing me personally to the client, second guessing my advice and giving immigration assistance on matters that they have no expertise in.

DIBP officers are unregistered, unregulated and uninsured.

Now the DIBP facebook page is in the "immigration assistance" business as well.

The advice given by DIBP is wishy washy, DIBPcentric, sometimes wrong, never strategic and on balance, an attempt to control the immigration assistance space.

DIBP is quick to refer to how many RMAs have been complained about but never have they once said there are 4899 RMAs and 12 got into trouble. 4 were sacked.

Those numbers speak for themselves RMAs are highly professional and very compliant.

That compliance has nothing to do with DIBP and OMARA that compliance reflects the professionalism of RMAs.

So how about it DIBP?..13,000 employees.

    How many complaints?
How long did it take to resolve those complaints?
    Who investigated the complaints?
    How many warnings?
    how many cautions?
    How many suspensions?
    How many sackings?

DIBP needs to get out of the "Immigration assistance" business.

DIBP has all the information in the world but no KNOWLEDGE.

RMAs are not in the information game they are in the Knowledge business.

Finally, if RMAs underperformed and failed to communicate and failed to demonstrate sound knowledge at the same rate that DIBP does then they would get deregistered...pure and simple.

I'm not surprised that DIBP hate RMAs. The way they have been trying to put information on their website and encouraging people not to use RMAs clearly seems they want to be the sole player in the industry. One example on FAQ section of DIBP website.
Do I need to use a migration agent?
    Answer: NO

Do you really think the DIBP hate RMAs?

    Liana,

    i know it.

Everything they do, their lack of consultation, their failure to communicate and the constant drum beat of contempt tells me that this is true.

    They hate RMAs.

We are too independent, too well informed and have real knowledge.

DIBP loves their little slaves and pets. Those who fall in line, those who can be cowed and bullied and manipulated. These pets are not RMAs, they are Education Agents.

DIBP loves Education Agents they even register them! They give them priority over RMAs for access to E lodgement of student visas.

DIBP knows Education Agents give "immigration assistance", to suggest otherwise is laughable. Education Agents are scared because DIBP can shut them down if they don't do as they are told.

Since the inception of MA, RMAs have got off their knees and don't put up with the lies, bad service, fake consultations, bullying and the other crap that DIBP dishes out to all and sundry.

RMAs are independent, knowledgeable are are not afraid to stand up for their clients legal entitlements.

    DIBP hates that!
