Breaking Australian immigration news brought to you by Migration Alliance and associated bloggers.
DIBP recently issued a new form 80 (dated 04/2014) where the 30 year requirement for travel and address history has been backtracked to the previous requirement of 10 years for all but refugee and humanitarian visa applicants – Looks like the DIBP is reading the MA website and paying attention to our lobbying. Great outcome!
Special thanks to Mark Northam on our Committee for this news.
Nice of DIBP to let us all know by newsletter or blast via the OMARA or something isn't it? (cough) We all have to 'happen to notice' these kinds of things and cannot rely on DIBP to actually inform us of important changes. Wondering if this change is anywhere in their news on their website or anywhere in LEGENDcom or anywhere at all, or whether they just make it up as they go..........cynic in me again.
You asked for the client's life history - pah! nothing.
I have asked for details of conception
This makes us all look so unprofessional and stupid, perhaps that's the game plan?
If they (DIBP) can't get such a basic thing right then why are we paying this Minister (his Dept - his head) such a lot of money, in private industry, by now, he and his Mandarins would be out there rattling tins and singing ancient rock songs in George Street!
Here's a thought, why not get DIBP and some of the 4,500+ Australian Registered Migration Agents and work through all of the paper Forms and Online ImmiAccount Forms and Systems as we do thousands of these every day and there are a number of double ups and inconsistencies and together we could improve things.
I just advised my client to redo the Form 80 providing his life story since his birth.
