When is the DIBP going to stop accepting visa applications from unregistered visa and migration brokers? New Zealand and Canada have done it.  Why can't Australia?

Another story rolls in.

It has been reported to Migration Alliance that QUT use a student agency called VIEC in Ludhiana, India to recruit students to attend their courses in Australia.    Migration Alliance has been informed that the manager at VIEC is a male by the name of Mr Sachin Jain and that he works with another female by the name of Navneet.

Please see the number of complaints for these unregistered visa brokers in the links below.  There are plenty on Google but Australian universities still use these people to recruit students.  There are apparently many more of agents just like this in India.

Migration Alliance has been informed on countless occasions that student agents are not supposed to charge any fees to lodge Australian visa applications on behalf of their clients (students) as they get their monies via commission from the Australian universities instead.  Reports in from a Registered Migration Agent, who is a reliable member of Migration Alliance, show us that these student agencies do charge a fee for processing the student visa applications to Australia.  They do this because clients have no choice but to use them.

We know that the DIBP regularly trawl through this website and hope that they don't ignore the blatantly obvious.

Unregistered offshore visa brokers who double-up as 'student agents' ruin lives

Below are some of the complaints against unregistered visa brokers ruining lives:

The homepage of the VIEC website states:

With a network of over 53 offices across Australia, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka and 43 offices in India, VIEC is one of the leading education consultants worldwide with a reputation of integrity & ethics.

No information on the offices across Australia can be found on the website.

This is a general notice to all RMAs who are looking to have their points reported for CPD activities by providers.

It has not been possible for CPD providers to report points to the OMARA as the website has been down.

The website is now back online but this means there may be a delay in reporting.

If it is ok for the Office of the MARA to issue 'warnings' about agents on their website then it is ok for MA to issue warnings to case officers on ours.  The following is a complaint about Lorraine Sullivan which has been sent to the DIBP by a RMA:

I’m a registered migration agent (MARN: 00000000) [number removed for privacy reasons]

On 8 March 2015, my client Mr. XXXX Zhou’s student was cancelled by the Department at the Sydney Airport before he was immigration cleared. I was notified of Mr. Zhou’s situation that night by a friend of his. I rang the Department’s airport office on 02 83378524 at around 9:51 pm and spoke to a male officer (name unknown to me), who advised me to email a copy of Form 956 to his office before I could obtain information about Mr. Zhou from the office. The Form 956 would be forwarded to Mr. Zhou to sign at the Villawood Immigration Detention Facility (VIDF). I emailed the Form to This email address is being protected from spambots.
