Queensland state nomination program UPDATE as at 28 June 2019

The Queensland business and skilled programs are currently closed and will not open on 1 July 2019. The programs are scheduled to open by the end of July (date-to-be confirmed). Please do not contact BSMQ to enquire when the programs will open. We are currently working with stakeholders to finalise the 2019-20 programs.

The following information is found on the David Coleman MP's website dated today, 1 July 2019:

From 1 July, important elements to support the first and third components of the plan come into effect.

First, the government is cutting the permanent migration program by a cumulative 120,000 places over four years. The new cap is 160,000 per annum, down from the cap of 190,000. The average intake over the last five years has been 183,000.

The new instrument relating to VAC fee increases says that the increases are at 5.4%, but a Registered Migration Agent by the name of Essence Fleur D'Espoir Purcell has done the following calculations, which we agree with:

They have increased the fees by with a CPI of 2.25%, and then they apply the 5.4%.

Partner visas have actually increased by 7.75% overall.
