Demand for nomination by NSW is extremely high. The NSW Government will continue to select and invite top ranking candidates who meet the NSW nomination criteria in occupations on the NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List (NSW 190 List).

Some occupations on the NSW 190 Priority Occupation List (NSW 190 List) are now subject to an additional requirement for nomination by NSW.

Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs David Coleman said more than 1300 sponsorship applications and 170 visa applications have been lodged and visa grants have already started.

“As expected there has been strong demand for the new visa,” Mr Coleman said.

“For these first families and the others who will soon have their applications approved, the opportunity to bring their parents to Australia will be a source of great joy.”

“Family is such an important part of life for all Australians, and part of being a successful multicultural society is maintaining our family and community links.”
