As members would be aware Migration Alliance made a submission to government with a raft of policy suggestions for international students, working holiday makers, 444 visa holders and other temporary-sponsored visa holders.  The roll out shows that our suggestions have been adopted in part or in whole:

This instrument specifies that an application for a Subclass 102 (Adoption) visa and a Subclass 802 (Child) visa under paragraph 1108A(3)(f) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations or paragraph 1108(3)(c) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, cannot be a valid application if the applicant is claiming to have been adopted in the specified overseas country(ies) at the specified particular time(s). It also specifies the form, manner and place for making a valid application.

The purpose of the instrument is to update the information previously contained in LIN 18/068 to ensure all officers, agencies and their employees who require access to movement records for various purposes are authorised to do so. Accordingly, changes have been made to the legislation specified under subregulation 3.10A(1) and the agencies, employees and purposes specified under subregulation 3.10A(2).
