Skills Assessment often plays a crucial part in the migration outcome. With a number of different skills assessing bodies applying their own criteria towards determining a positive outcome, the task of securing a positive skill assessment can be somewhat cumbersome.

In the modern age of workforce, new roles are constantly emerging which makes the ANZSCO less useful in determining whether someone has the right set of skills and experience to be sponsored or nominated in occupation.

A good starting point is to visit the skills assessment website as it will give you an overall understanding of which occupations are assessed by the Skills Assessment body, the assessment process, the document requirements and of course the appeal process.
About Engineers Australia and ACS
Engineers Australia is constituted by Royal Charter to advance the science and practice of engineering for the good approximately 100,000+ members, the profession and our community. EA represent all disciplines of the engineering profession.
The ACS ICT Skills Assessment team assesses prospective migrant ICT professionals on authority of the Australian Government (Department of Education and Training) ensuring candidates meet relevant assessing authority standards needed for employment in Australia in a nominated occupation. ICT professionals applying for migration to Australia through the skilled migration programme are required to undergo an assessment of their skills, qualifications and/or work experience.
ACS has been approved by the Minister of Education as the relevant assessing authority for ICT related occupations under the Migration Regulations. The skills team assess 24 different occupation codes on the list of eligible skilled occupations as legislated by the Department of Home Affairs.
