URGENT WARNING:

Criminals have hacked the Migration Alliance VOIP phone number 02 90081306 and are passing off as police, the DIBP and other authorities to try and extract money from persons across Australia.

If you receive a call from our phone number, 0290081306, and the caller states they are from the police or other government department please report this to your local police station.  So far we have reports of calls being made to the states of NSW and VIC.

We are currently working with NSW Police and the Provider to determine the scale of attack.  

The latest report from a person of Indian heritage has stated that when he confronted the caller, the caller started to abuse him in his country of origin language.

We have checked the Provider's server log files and they have confirmed that no account or equipment on their end or ours has been compromised.

Their suggestion was to report it to ACMA and the Police as “Number Spoofing / Caller ID Spoofing” which has been done.
