MRT-RRT end of year shutdown

The offices of the Migration Review Tribunal and the Refugee Review Tribunal (the tribunals) will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period. Offices will close from 5.00pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2014 and will reopen from 8.30am on Friday, 2 January 2015.

During this period applications for review can continue to be lodged using the tribunals’ online lodgement facility or by fax.

A single registry email address, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. should be used to provide documents, submissions and responses to invitations. Additional information on communicating with the tribunals using email is available on our website.

Applicants and representatives who do not wish to use electronic communications, may lodge applications for review or provide documents, submissions or responses to invitations which have a due date on one of the days the offices are closed, on Friday, 2 January 2015 and no later than that date. In person lodgement at our registry locations can occur on that date.

However, applicants and representatives should note that Australia Post will not provide a mail delivery service on Friday, 2 January 2015 as it is an Australia Post authorised holiday. To ensure the tribunals receive documents due by 2 January 2015, applicants and representatives are advised to submit documents by means other than mail during this period.
