Dear Ms XXXX,
Thank you for contacting the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).
When a 457 application is not decision-ready at time of lodgement, applicants are given 28 calendar days in which to provide the missing information. The application is then re-allocated to a case officer once the 28 day period has elapsed for a decision to be made.
If you lodged your application online, please provide the requested information by attaching the documents to your application through ImmiAccount. As you will be able to view what you have attached through your ImmiAccount, the department will not send you an acknowledgement for your attachments. Please do not email your attachments to us as this will delay the processing of your application.
If you need to contact this office concerning your application you can do so by email. We try to respond to email enquiries within seven (7) working days If you do send an email to us, please ensure that you read the automatic response you receive.Yours sincerely

Here is one we received today after asking for the Case Officer's contact details in regards to a request letter we received....
UNCLASSIFIED
Under our new processing model the person who requested information from you did so in order to get your case to the point that the department has the full information in order for a decision can be made on it.
Cases are now only allocated to a case officer when either the requested information is received or the timeframe for response has expired.
All post lodgement enquiries need to be made by email through our 457 mailbox. The response time for emailed enquiries is between 2 and 5 working days.
Regards
