Agents are encouraged to refer clients to the Victorian Government’s Overseas Skills Registry, an online service making it easier for overseas qualified professionals, tradespeople and international student graduates to connect with Victorian employers.
Using the registry, overseas skilled workers can create an online profile of their professional skills and experience. To be eligible to use the registry, all individuals must live in Victoria, have a work visa and have qualifications recognised in Australia.
Victorian employers can register an account and search to connect directly with professionals and tradespeople with the skills their business needs. To register for an account employers need an ABN and a job vacancy in Victoria in a skilled occupation in demand.
There is no charge to use the registry.

Please note the following changes to the nomination application process for visas in the Business Innovation (188A) and Significant Investor (188C) streams. These are now in effect and will simplify the process of applying for nomination.
Business Innovation (188A):
We no longer require a business proposal as part of a Business Innovation visa application. Additional questions have been added to the online application form to replace the proposal.
There are also new Nomination Conditions and Appointment of Agent forms on the Live In Victoria website, which replace ‘Part B’. Accordingly, 'Part B' is no longer required as an attachment to the application form.
There will be a grace period of one month for applications already in progress; these will be assessed using the older forms. Please start using the new forms immediately for all new applications.
Significant Investor (188C):
A scanned copy of the Expression of Interest (EOI) is now required to be submitted as part of an application.
If your client wishes to change their complying investment after nomination, there is now a Change of Complying Investment form you will need to complete. Please send the completed form and any other required documents to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Please check the Live in Victoria website for the most up to date information.
Agents, please take care that the information you provide in your client’s Expression of Interest (EOI) on the SkillSelect website corresponds with the information contained in their state nomination application.
These discrepancies most commonly occur in the area of naming complying investment choices, so particular care should be taken with these. Where there is a mix of investments, each individual choice and investment amount must be listed.
Discrepancies between the two submissions will slow the processing of applications.
Guidelines are available on the Significant Investor page.
