Please note that from 19/04/2014 a credit card surcharge will apply to transactions made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Diners credit cards. The following rates will apply:
Since its introduction on 19 April 2014, the credit card surcharge is only liable to be paid by visa applicants when they pay an instalment of, or part of an instalment of, their VAC with a credit card. The credit card surcharge does not apply to the fee for sponsorship and nomination applications. Any surcharges incorrectly applied to sponsorship and nomination applications from 19 April 2014 will be refunded.

Hi Lian,
Really you have given an important information. I am very much impressed. But the problem is that they have continue to apply the credit card surcharge on nominations and sponsorships. But one thing I am using Alliance Bankcard credit card and they still not tell me about any surcharges. And also they giving me very good services. DIBP mentioned that:
[Effective from 19 April 2014 the Department of Immigration and Border Protection Australia has implemented a credit card surcharge for all visa application charges paid via credit card. The new charges will apply to all applications lodged online, and any paper-based applications paid for via credit card.
This fee will be taken at the time your application is lodged with the DIBP and will be on top of the prescribed visa application charge.
The surcharges or different credit cards accepted by DIBP are as followsare
Visa & MasterCard – 1.08%
American Express and JCB – 1.99%
Diners Club – 2.91%]
The problem is that they have continued to apply the credit card surcharge on nominations and sponsorships. As such they will need to refund this charge on all transactions from 19/04/2014 to 30/06/2014.
