Changes to the student visa program post 22 March 2014

The Student Visa Program Quarterly Report (December 2013 quarter)  is on the department’s website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/media/statistics/study/.  The March 2014 data should be available by the end of April.

The report of the Review of the Student Visa Assessment Level Framework is available through the following link:

DIBP's presentation on 'Changes to the student visa program - post 22 March 2014' can be found below:

Graham do you mean the presentation or the news? Don't you find it interesting that this is happening? Registered stakeholders find out later?

Yes the agent's gateway was not updated on any changes that took place on 22 March 2014, visa pricing, new forms, Parent visa changes, student visa AL changes, nothing. what is the point of the gateway then? How do we stay professional if we can't tell our clients the latest? This is more important than the overseas unregistered agent discussion we are currently having, unless of course they are updated more than we are?

    Graham
Judging by the comments on this blog plus feedback I am receiving via email, agents are probably the last to be updated. I can see that unregistered offshore student agents overseas were updated before agents were re student visa changes on 22 March. I can also see that the SIV stats update was not sent to agents but came to me via a different channel. The reality is that the agents gateway is pointless. If you want up to date news then you won't find it first at the agents gateway.
