The following information was sent to me today as it was probably sent to other Migration Alliance members. For those of you who have not seen it I thought it might be a good idea to share it here, with permission from the author:
Dear Migration Specialist,
The following migration industry snapshot is useful to analyse at this time of the year, being one-quarter past midyear DIAC changes.
Industry Snapshot
The September quarter 2013 has seen lower activity within both skilled and business migration industry when compared to the same period last year. This is primarily due to the more stringent criteria in making migrants eligible for any given visa subclass.
The graph below provides an illustration of year to date figures on individual visa streams. Employer sponsored visas are currently leading in the number of application outcomes followed by partner and skilled independent.
Graph: 2012-13 skill stream by visa category, onshore versus offshore
India remains Australia's largest source country of migrants with an outcome of 40 051 places or 21.1 per cent of the total migration program, up from 29 018 in 2011-12. The second and third largest source countries were China (27 334 places) and the United Kingdom (21 711 places).
It is expected that the incoming Liberal government should deliver further reforms to the industry in order to increase stimulation of the local economy through increased level of capital investment.
Immigration minister, Scott Morrison is warning that he will be tough on 457 visa cheats. And he might also reboot the significant investor visa stream, which proved not to be attractive to overseas business investors. (News.com.au October 21, 2013)
Changes reflecting NSW state sponsorship and Business Skill visas
With regards to the changes to the Business skills visas at state level, NSW State Government no longer requires an initial interview with the applicant for 188a visas. Applicants are still required to visit the state prior to applying for their state sponsorship in order to conduct relevant field research.
Business commitment documents as per the State Government criteria are still mandatory. BzMark team continues to assist clients in this process by offering guided research tours in any given industry field and in preparing the accompanying business commitments to suit the individual client criteria.
The 132 PR business visa, is becoming more popular and a number of State Governments are eager to sponsor suitable candidates for this in a number industries. BzMark has considerable experience with this visa and we encourage you to contact us to discuss the opportunities and possibilities in for your clients.
457 Visa Business News
BzMark also understands that there is a tightening of the requirements of 457 applications including the genuine position criteria and market salary assessment. The business plans prepared by BzMark include a clear and professional argument for the need for the nominated position to successfully address this requirement. The nominated market salary now also requires clear evidence based on an analysis of local market conditions and salaries being offered to similar positions. This information is also provided in our business plans.
BzMark prepares detailed and accurate business plans that address all key requirements to ensure sponsorship submissions are not held up with requests for further information from DIAC.
