When it comes to Australian immigration, skilled workers and technicians are at an advantage. An example of this can be seen in the Skilled Occupations List (SOL). Individuals with specialization in any of the fields, mentioned in SOL, will not require any work experience when applying for skilled migration to Australia.

The following email has been received by Migration Alliance from the DIBP:

Dear colleague or stakeholder

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection continues to invite people who arrived in Australia as irregular maritime arrivals (IMA) to apply for Temporary Protection visas (TPV).  Invitations to apply for TPVs are being sent to people according to the order in which they arrived in Australia, although priority is also being given to those in immigration detention. Applicants need to wait until it is their turn to apply for a Protection visa. The Department is currently inviting people who arrived from 14 November 2012 to 30 April 2013 to apply for a Protection visa.

The AAT has asked Migration Alliance to distribute the following message:

From Thursday 25 February 2016, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) registry services at 83 Clarence Street, Sydney will be available on Level 6.  Registry services on Level 11 will no longer be available from that date and the floor will have restricted access.

This move is the first step in the planned co-location of all NSW AAT registries to Clarence Street which we anticipate will be finalised by April 2016.
