NZ bikie with cancelled visa is in detention after being detained on the Gold Coast

Officers from the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Queensland Police Service yesterday detained a senior member of a high profile outlaw motor cycle gang (OMCG) at Beenleigh near the Gold Coast.

The man, who is a New Zealand citizen, had his visa cancelled under s501 of the Migration Act and will remain in detention until his removal from Australia, which will be facilitated as soon as possible.

Commander ABF Investigations, Graeme Grosse, said the ABF is committed to protecting the Australian community from those involved in serious criminal activity.

“The ABF maintains a strong focus on disrupting the activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs, by identifying, targeting and cancelling the visas of their members,” Commander Grosse said.
