The Migration Legislation Amendment (Arrangements for Child Visa Applications) Instrument 2026 (LIN 26/100) has been registered.

The instrument was registered on 21 September 2026 and commenced on 22 September 2026. It amends the Migration (Arrangements for Child Visa Applications) Instrument 2026 (LIN 26/081), which commenced on 1 September 2026.

Purpose of the amendment

The amendment corrects the postal address specified for certain Child and Extended Temporary visa applications.

Affected visa classes

The application arrangements apply to the following visa classes:

• Child (Migrant) (Class AH)
• Child (Residence) (Class BT)
• Extended Temporary (Class TK)

The instrument continues to specify the approved form, manner and place for making applications in these visa classes under Schedule 1 to the Migration Regulations 1994.

Application of the amendment

The corrected postal address applies to visa applications made on or after 22 September 2026.

The amendment is minor and technical in nature. It does not change the eligibility criteria or substantive requirements applying to the affected visa classes.

Migration practitioners should update their internal records, application checklists and correspondence templates to ensure that affected applications are sent to the correct postal address.
