NSW Business and Skilled Migration update

Business and Investor visas

NSW has introduced a new nomination criteria framework

All business and investor migrants seeking NSW nomination will now apply under a new nomination criteria framework.

NSW participates in the Business, Innovation and Investor Program to support our economic growth and resilience.

Changes to the Business Investor and Significant Investor visa subclasses have been made to promote investment for NSW-based businesses, particularly in the start-up and innovation sectors.

Our new nomination criteria for the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) is now available on our website.

Information about the new nomination criteria for the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) will be made available on our website shortly.

Applying to NSW

NSW will begin accepting applications for the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) on 20 September 2021.

Please ensure you have read and fully understood the new nomination criteria before applying for NSW nomination.

Skilled visas

The August 491 submission window has closed

If you submitted a valid ROI during the month of August, you may be invited to apply for NSW nomination up to 07 September 2021.

If you do not receive an invitation from the August submission window, you must re-register your interest in NSW nomination in each following submission window you wish to be considered in.

The next submission window is the month of October 2021, i.e. from 01 October to 31 October 2021. Later submission windows are the months of January and March 2022.

NSW cannot comment on why you were not invited to apply for nomination in the August submission window by phone or email.
