Migration (LIN 19/047: Specification of Occupations - Subclass 187 Visa) Instrument 2019

The purpose of the instrument is to update the occupations included in the MLTSSL and ROL that relate to the Subclass 187 visa. 

Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List

The purpose of the instrument is to update the occupations included in the MLTSSL and ROL that relate to the Subclass 187 visa. Specifically, the instrument makes the following changes from the old law:

a. Updating the MLTSSL by adding the following eight occupations:

i. arts administrator or manager (ANZSCO code 139911);

ii. dancer or choreographer (ANZSCO code 211112);

iii. music director (ANZSCO code 211212); Authorised Version Explanatory Statement registered 10/03/2019 to F2019L00276 LIN 19/047 

iv. artistic director (ANZSCO code 212111);

v. telecommunications network planner (ANZSCO code 313213);

vi. pressure welder (ANZSCO code 322312);

vii. tennis coach (ANZSCO code 452316);

viii. footballer (ANZSCO code 452411).

b. The following eight occupations are no longer a part of the ROL:

i. arts administrator or manager (ANZSCO code 139911);

ii. dancer or choreographer (ANZSCO code 211112);

iii. music director (ANZSCO code 211212);

iv. artistic director (ANZSCO code 212111);

v. telecommunications network planner (ANZSCO code 313213);

vi. pressure welder (ANZSCO code 322312);

vii. tennis coach (ANZSCO code 452316);

viii. footballer (ANZSCO code 452411).

The instrument imposes an inapplicability condition for the occupations of general practitioner (ANZSCO code 253111), medical practitioners (nec) (ANZSCO code 253999) and resident medical officer (ANZSCO code 253112) (medical practitioner occupations).

The inapplicability condition stipulates if a current health workforce certificate for the position and the occupation is not presented to the Department of Home Affairs, the nomination will not be approved.
