Visa applications in the Business Innovation and Investment Programme, which includes investors with more than $1 million in business assets, jumped by 74 per cent in 2016-17.

Welcoming Cities initiative officially launched in Launceston

A new initiative aimed at promoting cultural diversity and inclusion has officially launched in Launceston. Welcoming Cities is being rolled out across the state, in partnership with the Multicultural Council of Tasmania. Northern projects manager Grace Walsh said the program was aimed at supporting councils in attracting and retaining migrants to the state.
