Are your clients making the most financially of their offshore assignments?

Are your clients making the most financially of their offshore assignments?

Contribute to this important research being undertaken by Stacey Martin, Specialist Wealth Advisor – Expatriates and Significant Investor VISA, NAB Private Wealth

Taking up an offshore posting can be an exciting time – a new country, career opportunities and lifestyle experiences for the family. With an extensive list of things to do before departure, often this leaves little time for forward planning.

Personal wealth management is a relatively new industry across the globe. As with most professions, knowledge and qualifications are country specific. Many executives transferred overseas are not sure if they should be making any changes to their personal financial arrangements.

Often with a boost in remuneration and other benefits, assignees assume surplus cash should be directed to the home mortgage. However, by undertaking strategies to make the most of potential tax breaks when renting out the home, whilst building personal investments subject to much lower rates of Australian Withholding Tax (WHT), there can be a significant boost to personal wealth.

Advice tailored to Australian expatriates is highly specialised and can be difficult for individuals to access at the right time. This survey has been designed by UGM Consulting, authors of the 2013 Research Briefing “Women and the Asian Century,” to gain insights from a range of professionals and globally mobile executives of their experiences of financial services.

Following is a link to the anonymous survey which should take less than 10 minutes to complete:

The research findings will be launched at the Invest In Australia mission to the Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong on 21st January, 2015. Participants can register to ensure they receive a copy.
