DIAC have sent through an update letter to Migration Alliance re Melbourne and Dandenong.

A couple of agents have been sending in a new slogan for DIAC called 'PEOPLE NOT OUR BUSINESS'
It looks like DIAC is unwinding its commitment to customer service. the resort to online lodgement of applications is a good thing and the effective closure of lodgement facilities across the counter will inevitably mean that disputes will arise with respect to the date of 'lodgement" of applications. My advice to all practitioners is to have resort to "registered post" or couriers in order to provide "proof" of lodgement of time critical applications. We will need to lift our game in order to avoid late lodgement or disputes about the timing of applications.
