The following email was received from the SA government today:

For the new 2021-22 program year, South Australia has removed two steps from the application process used in the previous 2020-21 program year.

These are the removal of the exploratory visit to South Australia and also the removal of the requirement to submit an ‘Intention To Apply’ (ITA) form for the 2021-22 program year.

Accordingly, we will be assessing state nomination applications for subclass 188 visa products in four quarterly periods during the 2021-22 program year to assist with management of the allocation quotas provided by the Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs (DHA) over the entire program year.

These indicative dates are:

  • Round 1 Assessments: 2 August 2021 – 24 September 2021
  • Round 2 Assessments: 25 October 2021 – 17 December 2021
  • Round 3 Assessments: 31 January 2022 – 25 March 2022
  • Round 4 Assessments: 2 May 2022 – 24 June 2022

Application assessment timelines may be impacted by the volumes received and will be communicated accordingly throughout the program year as each assessment round is completed.

Applications for state nomination for the subclass 188 Business Innovation, Investor & Significant Investor streams will open on Tuesday 20th July 2021. Application access for the subclass 188 Entrepreneur stream will follow in August and a further announcement regarding this will be provided in due course.

With the 2020-21 program year now complete, we will progressively update the information on our website throughout July. All information on the 2021-22 program year nomination requirements and application process will be available on our website by Tuesday 20 July 2021.

Information regarding South Australia’s Skilled Migration Nomination Program will be relayed in the coming week.

We thank you for your interest in South Australia’s Business Migration Program.

The Department of Home Affairs has published this information on it's Facebook page today:

A cancelled migration agent has been sentenced to jail after an Australian Border Force investigation into unlawful immigration assistance.

As part of Operation YAKTOWN, our ABF colleagues began following allegations that the ex-agent was providing false visa grant notices to prospective applicants. As a result of her conduct, some of her clients became unlawful in Australia despite believing they held valid visas.

The woman was sentenced to nine months imprisonment and ordered to pay compensation to her victims. To read more visit: http://newsroom.abf.gov.au/.../woman-sentenced-to-nine...
The former agent was cancelled by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) for breaches of the Code including engaging in fraudulent and dishonest behaviour.

Don’t risk being exposed to migration fraud. If you want help with your visa application, use a person who is registered with the OMARA. There are Australian registered migration agents working all around the world, visit www.mara.gov.au
